Lets introduce this months creative brief and then talk about how to submit your entry.
The Brief:
For a physical or digital magazine that documents either creative lifestyle or
outdoor adventure/activity.
Details:
This could be a fictional or real magazine.
You have creative freedom over the layout and assets. You only need to design one spread but are not limited to that number.
No need to write your own copy it could be sourced online or Lorem Ipsum text. We're interested in the assets you chose and how you use them in your design.
(It's also important to note that if you don't feel confident in working in Indesign we will except entries made using other applications. Although we do recommend you get used to working in Indesign for editorial projects, it's by far the best tool for this job!)
Techniques/skills to include:
- Use of a decorative drop cap applied to at least one image.
Then either:
- Use of a custom text wrap on a section of copy. OR
- Use of columns to create a structure for a section of copy.
Be as creative as possible!

Helpful hints/
Resources:
- Take a look at other publications. See how the style and imagery they use reflects the subject matter of the content.
- Keep it simple, you don't need to use a tonne of assets just what makes sense and communicate the right message.
Deliverables:
You can submit up to 3 entries for this creative brief (details of how to submit included below.) An entry must include a refined design submitted as a jpg/s. Again we want you to get creative so points for innovation!

Please upload your submissions as jpgs then include your name and a link to your portfolio in the written description. If your feeling a little unsure just check the mock submission we have posted and follow the same format.
