A Little About Lena

Lena has been using Photoshop for over 20 years , mostly as a hobbyist,  but she recently decided to take her skills to a professional level. After participating in our popular design sprint earlier this year, she was awarded the chance to take an Adobe certification exam of her choice. That push led her to the Photoshop Exam Guide Course and a new chapter in her creative journey.

Q&A with Lena – Her Adobe Certification Story

Q1: What motivated you to pursue the Adobe Certified Professional exam, and how did you hear about the Photoshop Exam Guide course?

During the Pro Member Design Sprint Event, I won the chance to take any Adobe certification exam of my choice, which gave me the push I needed to pursue something I had long dreamed of. That's how I found Martin's Photoshop Exam Guide.

Q2: How did the course structure and content help you prepare for the exam? Were there any specific features that made a big difference?

Like all of Martin’s videos, each lesson was clear, detailed, and packed with practical knowledge. The combination of video walkthroughs, practice PSDs, and mock exams was incredibly effective, it helped me spot gaps in my skills and prepare with real-world scenarios.

Q3: Did you face any challenges while studying or during the exam, and how did the course help you overcome them

I’ve been using Photoshop for over 20 years as a hobbyist, but getting to a professional level meant updating a lot of old habits and learning new tools. The course helped me organize everything systematically, and I discovered so many features I’d never used before. It completely reshaped my approach to Photoshop.

Q4: How did it feel to pass the exam with a 95% score? Has certification impacted your confidence or career since then?

It was honestly one of the most fulfilling moments, I’ve always dreamed of this. Passing with such a high score gave me a huge confidence boost and finally the courage to start building my portfolio. It’s already opening new doors and possibilities.

Q5: What advice would you give to others who are thinking about taking the exam or signing up for this course?

Set a realistic plan and give yourself plenty of time to practice between lessons. I also highly recommend going through the course at least twice, it’s so rich with insights that revisiting it really helped me solidify everything.

Q6 How was the exam booking and proctoring process for you?

The entire process was smooth. The Yes Im A Designer team provided all the necessary information well in advance, and they booked and proctored the exam, so everything was straightforward and stress-free on exam day.
